  3. Decommission of CU Link Contact Chip for Authentication Purpose starting from Sep 2012
Decommission of CU Link Contact Chip for Authentication Purpose starting from Sep 2012

With a significant upsurge of student population due to 2012 new four-year curriculum, the University has introduced new formats of 10-digit student IDs, college IDs and admission programme codes effective from 1 July 2010. However, the limited adjustment capacity of MULTOS contact chips could not cope with these changes. ITSC has therefore decided to decommission all systems and terminate her support on using CU Link MULTOS contact chip for authentication purpose (e.g. door access system) starting from September 2012.

With this change, departments should consider installing systems that using CU Link contactless chip for authentication.

More details can be found in here. Should departments have any enquiries, please contact Sam Tong ( samsam@cuhk.edu.hk ) or Gigi Mui ( gigi@cuhk.edu.hk ).
